April 30, 2009 - Historic Denver, Inc. and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, along with co-chairs Holly Kylberg and Tom Lorz, would like to invite you to be a part of One Past 5 – The Spring Polo Party at the Phipps Mansion.  With mint julep in hand, the sinking sun coloring the sky and one of Denver’s iconic landmarks setting the stage, you’ll mix with Denver’s dapper best and mingle with fellow lovers of her architectural legacy.  Built during the heart of the Great Depression in 1932, the 33,000 square foot Phipps Mansion was a stimulus package in itself.  The Spring Polo Party is a celebration of Denver’s culture, the spirit of philanthropy and a by-gone era of elegance.

.

The inspiration for the Historic Denver, Inc. and National Trust for Historic Preservation happy hours was to allow our guests access into spaces that most have never had the opportunity to explore and in the process strengthen the interest of a younger demographic in historic preservation efforts.  They’re exclusive buildings or residences that until now were only open to the select few based upon power or pedigree.

The Spring Polo Party at the Phipps Mansion will be held on April 30, 2009 from 5:01 pm until 8

pm.  Attendance will be limited to 125 people, so we recommend that you get your tickets early.  In celebration of the upcoming Kentucky Derby and Denver Polo Classic, Derby attire is encouraged.  Your ticket includes catering, wine and mint juleps provided by the Denver ChopHouse & Brewery.  Gift bags provided by Nordstrom.  For those of you joining us for the first time at a One Past 5 event you will receive a complimentary full year membership to both Historic Denver, Inc. and National Trust for Historic Preservation.
