Did you know?

Urban legend holds that a tunnel once connected The Brown Palace Hotel with the historic Navarre building across the street. It is rumored that gentlemen staying at the hotel traveled discreetly by rail car through the tunnel to the Navarre, a one-time house of gambling and prostitution.

Historic Denver Board of Trustees

Historic Denver is governed by a Board of Trustees, serving as volunteers, who oversee the organization's operations, staff, and mission, including the operations of our flagship property, the Molly Brown House Museum. Board members are nominated on an annual basis and new terms typically begin in the late fall. The Board strives to represent a variety of community interests and provide the organization with the diverse skill sets necessary for any successful non-profit organization, as well as guidance on important preservation matters.

We are currently looking for a small number of individuals who would be interested in joining the Historic Denver Board of Trustees for a three-year term commencing in November 2010. Our selection process will focus on persons who have a background or strong interest in historic preservation with professional or non-profit experience that would make them a valuable addition to the existing Board and will bring additional diversity and community perspective to the group. Prior experience as a director of a non-profit organization is preferred.

If you are interested in being considered for a Board position or would like to nominate someone else to the Board, please contact Sarah Krause, Chair of the Board Development Committee, ssk1@ntrs.com or (303) 335-1470. The deadline for expressing interest for this year’s selection process is June 1, 2010.
